TOOTH COLORED FILLINGS
These are tooth colored fillings that are color matched to your natural teeth. They are non evasive, cost effective and aesthetic way of removing decay and enables the dentist to restore your tooth back to a healthy state. At Somersmiles Dental we only use white fillings because it is what we feel works best and it is what our patients like.
CROWNS AND BRIDGES
Crowns are a solution and or option that may be offered when there is a large degree of tooth loss (if there is 60% of natural tooth loss due to decay or breakage a crown may be recommended as a restorative option) crowns offer a more long term and permanent option. Crowns are always recommended for teeth that have had root canal therapy as after this treatment is done the tooth can become brittle and by placing a crown on the tooth it gives the tooth more strength and longevity. The crown is color matched to your natural tooth color. They can be tooth colored to match other natural teeth or in some cases gold may be used towards the back of the mouth as this is a very strong material. We can create beautiful smiles with crowns and change your smile.
This is about achieving and creating an aesthetic relationship between teeth, gums and face. It is the marriage of science , technology and experience to create the desired natural outcome. Having a balanced and beautiful smile can give ones personal confidence a boost.
This procedure enables the dentist to lighten your teeth by several shades with the application of whitening gel. This can be done either at the clinic for an instant result which takes an hour to complete or in the form of a take home kit which you apply at home over a 3 week period. The results are a confident and brighter smile.

ACTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
This is where we as a practice help you to maintain optimal oral health by reviewing your gum and oral health on a 6- 12 monthly basis depending on the individual needs of the patient. It would involve an appointment with one of our Dentists or our Oral Health Therapist. At this appointment we would do a check up and scale and clean. By reviewing our patients every 6 months this enables us to see any problems that can result in more extensive work if left for a long period of time. This appointment also allows our Dentists to review any gum issues that you may have had in the past.
